In 2014, Tim and I began to explore adoption as a way to grow our family. We researched the different types of adoption, completed mandatory paperwork, background checks, and interviews with multiple adoption agencies. Add a military move to the process, and within six months of living in California we learned about the twins! We met their birth family, anxiously waited to learn if they chose us. Thankfully they did, and on June 23, 2015, Michael and Thomas were born. Our amazing birth parents invited me into the delivery room where I was the first person to hold the boys, and just two days later they were home meeting their big sister Livi.

Most people are unaware that the average cost of adoption is approaching $50,000. So without the generosity of family and friends, we would not be the family we are today. We know how blessed we are, and we want to do our part to give back. On Sunday, March 18th, I am running the NYC half-marathon for HelpUsAdopt.Org. The impact of 60 people, each donating $25 will easily enable me to meet my goal of raising $1000 for this incredible organization. But even donating just $10 in honor of HelpUsAdopt.Org's 10th Anniversary will help to build families. Thank you for your ongoing support to families of adoption!

Since 2007, Helpusadopt.org has been awarding large, life-changing grants to help couples and individuals overcome the financial obstacles of adoption – regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, marital status, or sexual orientation – and we couldn’t do it without your support.

The people who apply for a grant from Helpusadopt.org are hard-working, financially responsible, and want nothing more than to be a parent. They are teachers, volunteers, and cancer survivors, who, by no fault of their own, simply cannot afford the large, lump-sum required to bring home their children. These people aren’t asking for extravagances; they are asking for a chance to give vulnerable children the lives and families they deserve. That is why we work so hard, day-in and day-out, to advocate for this community, for these Faces of Adoption(TM).

Over the past 10 years, Helpusadopt.org has awarded 230 adoption grants totaling over $2 million. Your generous gift will help us continue to grow our adoption grant program and build more families through adoption.
